Spinning Tops

I started making these tops as stocking stuffers last Christmas and I have found that they make great small gifts. They seem to be enjoyed by adults and children alike. They can ease tension on the executive's desk or add to a fun mealtime on the dining table. I make them without patterns or jigs so each one is a bit different. They are roughly 3" wide and 5" or 6" tall . These are all cherry and ash but I may be tempted to use some different woods at some point. Right now, I am making them from what I have around or left over from a larger job. They are finished with a high speed turning wax that is applied on the lathe right after I finish shaping the top.
