Farm House Bed

This bed is a nice basic design. The expanse of wood on the headboard gives it a taste of luxury, but it remains a bed that is not imposing. The headboard is tenoned into the head posts and pegged as is the foot rail to the foot posts. The head and foot boards are attached to the side rails with bolted mortice and tenon joints. This exposed bolt comes from a Shaker harvest table design. I like it because the bolt becomes a nice detail instead of trying to be hidden. My standard Farmhouse bed is at the top.
